How to Adapt to living with Coywolves:
- Do not leave pets and young children outside unsupervised even in fenced in areas
- Only put garbage outside the morning that it is scheduled to be picked up
- Use enclosed compost bins and store garbage in secure containers in an enclosed structure
- Pick ripe fruit off trees and remove fallen fruit from the ground
- Use motion sensor lights
- Close off spaces under sheds, decks and porches
- Clear away bushes and dense weeds near the house
- Carry a flashlight around at night if you are outside in order to scare off any coywolves that are in the area.
What to do if you approach an aggressive coywolf:
- Keep your distance and it will avoid you
- Never approach a coywolf
- Do Not turn your back on or run from a coywolf
- Slowly back away and try to remain calm
- In order to scare it off stand tall, wave hands and make a lot of noise
- If it poses an immediate threat or danger to anyone call 911
